Director: Fedor Bondarchuk
I always like to watch science fiction. If there’s also a love story in it then the combination can’t be any better. Attraction is the first Russian sci-fi that I have ever watched. The title attracted me in the very first place and was the only reason I decided to watch the movie. Let’s talk about attraction.
An alien spaceship enters Earth’s atmosphere and crash-lands in Moscow. Hakon, the alien, and Yulia, the daughter of a Russian colonel, fall in love with each other and fight against the government and people.
The movie starts with a spectacular crash landing scene of a benevolent Alien spaceship in Moscow. The military of Moscow surrounds the spaceship. Somehow Yulia, the daughter of a Russian colonel gets in touch with an Alien named Hakon. They fall in love with each other. Yulia tries to help Hekon to leave the Earth with his spaceship. But the government and the people stand against them.
The visual effect of Attraction is great but there’s a lack of development that extends to the characters. The movie has some great conversations. Here are two of my favorite dialogues from Hakon( the alien) to Julia.
